In 2025, the NORDLIS lightning detector network registered a total of 29 472 cloud-to-ground lightning strikes in Estonia. This is slightly more than the 2005-2024 average, which is over 27 000 cloud-to-ground strikes. Compared to the previous year, there was about 7% less thunderstorm activity in 2025.
