A circular economy can be implemented through many activities that support it.

  • Environmentally friendly public procurement – conventional public procurement, where the procured product or service is environmentally friendly and has the least possible environmental impact.
  • Eco-innovation – innovation that significantly promotes sustainable development by reducing the environmental impact of production methods, increasing resistance to environmental burden or ensuring a more efficient and responsible use of natural resources.
  • Eco label – a label that confirms that the product or service is environmentally friendly.
  • Resource efficiency – with resource efficiency, it is possible to produce more, spending less money and natural resources; it is possible to get more revenue from one unit of raw materials, i.e. greater value can be created with lower material costs.
  • Industrial symbiosis – achieving a closed production cycle, where the waste, waste heat and other by-products of one company or production unit are balanced by another company.
  • Waste as a resource – using waste as a resource, it is possible to get the maximum benefit from natural resources and reduce demand for new natural resources.
  • Environmental management systems – environmental management allows companies to approach the environmental issues associated with developments, products, services and activities in a systematic way.
