Environmental Investment Centre

The Environmental Investment Centre supports activities in the fields of circular economy, waste and subsoil resources.

The purpose of the circular economy programme is to support the economical use of subsoil resources, landscaping, the organisation and distribution of subsoil resources information and the reduction of the environmental impact caused by the exploration, mining and use of mineral resources, the creation of circular economy models, the raising of awareness in the field of circular economy, and the development and wider use of sustainable consumption and production solutions.

Application rounds for the circular economy programme take place every year. Supported activities and application conditions are published on the website when the application round opens.

Science meets regions

The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) is waiting for expressions of interest to participate in the ‘Science meets Regions’ initiative. The purpose of the initiative is to enhance evidence-informed policymaking at the local and regional level.

Horizon Europe

The Horizon Europe programme is the European Union's new research and innovation framework programme for the years 2021–2027. It is the world's largest programme supporting research and development and international cooperation, with a budget of 95.5 billion euros. Read more here.

LIFE programme

The LIFE programme is a financial instrument of the European Commission that has been financing environmental projects across the entire the EU for 30 years. It is the only financing instrument directly aimed at the environment, supporting the development and implementation of the EU's environmental policy. The LIFE programme contributes to sustainable development, the achievement of the goals and targets of the ‘Europe 2020’ strategy and the relevant environmental and climate strategies and plans of the EU.

The LIFE programme is divided into two sub-programmes:

topics of the natural environment preservation – financing up to 70% of the project cost;

climate issues – financing up to 55% of the project cost.

ADAPTER

ADAPTER is a cooperation network of Estonian universities and research and development institutions and its purpose is to bring entrepreneurs and researchers together easily and quickly. ADAPTER allows you to contact all participating Estonian research and development institutions through one push of a button, search for the services they provide for what you need, learn about support measures aimed at companies and much more.

EIC Accelerator

The business accelerator EIC Accelerator supports the market-ready development of technology and knowledge-intensive solutions up to a maximum of 2.5 million euros. The total grant amount is more than 1,135 million euros.

The purpose of the grant is to support breakthrough innovations by providing risk-prone capital to individual companies in the market-ready development and launch of technology- and knowledge-intensive solutions to the market.

Circular design master class

Circular design is a product development process focused on reducing the environmental impact of products and services and finding innovative solutions.

The circular design master class is a six-month product development programme of the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency and KredEx, which helps the companies to understand the life cycle of products and the resulting environmental effects and to make better choices in order to design an environmentally friendly and sustainable service and/or product.
