A wild animal is a wild free-roaming mammal or bird, and game are wild animals and birds that are hunted.
Overview
In Estonia, 20 mammal species and 25 bird species are permitted to be hunted. To make sure that game populations stay in good condition and their hunting remains sustainable, consistent monitoring of the populations is required.
As a result of game monitoring, a monitoring report covering all game species, including hunting suggestions, is prepared every year. Our game monitoring and research materials are gathered on this page.
